On September 30, 2015, the President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Professor Bertil Andersson, was conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Tianjin University. He is the first university President to be conferred as Tianjin University’s Honorary Doctor, as well as the first honorary doctorate after the opening of the Peiyang Park Campus. The honorary doctorate was conferred by Tianjin University’s President Professor Li Jiajun.

After the ceremony, Professor Andersson gave a lecture on “NTU-Singapore, adopting the 21st Century Academia “at the university’s Peiyang Lecture Hall.

Professor Andersson and his delegation visited Tianjin University for the university’s 120th Anniversary Celebration as well as an invited guest at the 2015 University Presidents’ Roundtable held on October 1, 2015.
