President Li Meets French Delegation of Centre-Val de Loire Université

President Li Jiajun met with a French delegation of Centre-Val de Loire Universitéheaded by Director Joel Allain of Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Bourges (ENSIB) and Director Romuald Bone of Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs du Val de Loire (ENIVL) on April 13. Also present were the representatives of relevant schools and offices of TJU.

President Li gave an overview on the development of Tianjin University (TJU), the construction of the new campus and the cooperation between Tianjin and France in industry. Directors Allain and Bone talked about French higher education system and Grande Ecole and hoped for developing collaboration with TJU on education and research. Both sides exchanged views and agreed on the cooperation in terms of student training and summer programs. Related issues such as educational system and language requirements were also discussed.

Centre-Val de Loire Universitéconsists of eight universities and institutes in France including ENSIB and ENIVL. It aims at facilitating joint research, training doctoral students, promoting internationalization and digitalization among its members, leading the development of regional higher education, and promoting the establishment of regional observation station of higher education and the association for commercializing scientific and technological achievements. ENSIB was established in 1997. It provides two engineer programs in industrial risk management and IT safety. ENIVL is also a state college offering a five-year multi-disciplinary engineering degree. Its distinguished programs include electrical engineering and information technology, mechanical engineering, mechatronics and industrial system management.
