Attendees included representatives from the School of Chemical Engineering and the Office of International Cooperation.

President Li spoke highly of the Dr. Zhu’s scientific achievements. He emphasized that the discipline of chemical engineering has a significant presence at TJU and China. Alhough it has a solid foundation and has forged close links to industry, there is still room for improvement if it is to stand among the world’s top research institutions in chemical engineering. President Li hoped that the international advanced research and management model which Dr. Zhu brought to TJU could help further improve this discipline, and to promote the cooperation between TJU and the University of Ontario.

Dr. Zhu expressed his appreciation for the honor. He spoke highly of the development and influence of the TJU’s chemical engineering. He stated that he would do his best to further strengthen cooperation concerning talent training and academic research at the two universities.
