On June 10, 2014, Professor Marie-Louise Klotz, President of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and Thorsten Brandt, Dean of the School of Technology and Bionic Biology visited Tianjin University (TJU) and signed an Agreement for Student Exchange with TU's Qiushi College.
TJU Vice President Yu Jianxing met with the delegation. He introduced the history and development of TJU, and especially stressed the effort TJU has made towards education reform, such as EQ development, advancement of knowledge systems, and training for practical ability. He also pointed out that Qiushi College was a pilot zone for talent training, and hoped to deepen education reform through cooperation and exchange with foreign universities. President Klotz quite agreed with TJU’s education philosophy. She indicated that, as the youngest public university in Germany, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences aimed for fast development through interdisciplinary growth and internationalization. They cherish the ties with TJU, and wished for more mutually beneficial exchange and cooperation arising from this agreement.
During the visit, the delegation also visited the teaching facilities of Qiushi College and several labs of the School of Mechanical Engineering.
