A Presidential Delegation from the University of Rouen Visits TJU

On October 18th, Professor Liu Jianping, Chairman of the University Council of Tianjin University (TJU), met with President Cafer ?zkul of the University of Rouen and his delegation. Also in attendance were the representatives from the School of Sciences, the Office of Science & Technology, the Office of Undergraduate Affairs and the International Cooperation Office.

Chairman Liu extended his warm welcome to the guests and then briefed them on TJU history, its distinctive disciplines and research development. President ?zkul expressed his sincere gratitude to TJU’s hospitality. After their in-depth discussion on the cooperation in terms of research, personnel exchanges and student training, the two sides agreed to step up the mutual cooperation in the fields of internal combustion engine, nanotechnology and chemical engineering, so as to radiate the development of regional economy and technology and further deepen the sister-city relationships between Tianjin and the Rouen region. Afterwards, President ?zkul visited the School of Sciences and the College of Management and Economics and gave a presentation about the University of Rouen to TJU faculty and students.

The University of Rouen was established in 1966. It is a renowned public comprehensive university providing free university education in France. Currently, the university has 24,247 students and 2,292 staff. Among 40 high-level research labs, 15 are the joint labs with the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) or French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM). Its research covers the fields of engineering technology, biochemical technology, resources and planning.
