Visit of a Delegation from the Australian National University

On March 6, Associate Professor Thushara Abhayapala, Director of Research School of Engineering, College of Engineering & Computer Science and Ms. Jennifer Schroeder, Marketing and Outreach Coordinator of Australian National University (ANU), visited TJU. The representatives of the School of Electronic Information Engineering, the School of Precision Instrument & Optoelectronics Engineering, the Office of International Cooperation and the Office of Undergraduate Affairs held discussions with the guests.

The representatives from related schools talked about the history and distinctive disciplines of TJU and also some general information about each school. Professor Thushara Abhayapala gave an overview of ANU. He indicated that he was very pleased to visit TJU, the first university in China, and hoped to develop collaboration in terms of student programs on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, faculty exchanges and joint research. Cooperation details were discussed during the meeting.

Australia National University (ANU), established in 1946 in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, is one of the leading members of the Group of Eight (Go8), a coalition of leading Australian universities. In recent years, ANU takes an active role in the education and research in the fields of computer application and information engineering.
