On March 20, Vice Party Secretary Wang Yan met with Professor Keith A Teague of the Oklahoma State University (OSU) who was accompanied by Zhang Weili, Chair Professor of “Chang Jiang Scholars Program” of TJU. The representatives of the Office of International Cooperation and the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering also attended the meeting.
Vice Party Secretary Wang welcomed the guests and gave them an overview of the scientific research carried out by TJU and the commercialization of these research achievements as well as the international exchange of students. He hoped to see more substantial cooperation between the two universities. Professor Teague showed appreciation to TJU’s hospitality. He hoped to expand the substantial cooperation between both sides with the General Agreement to be renewed.
During his stay at TJU, Professor Teague visited the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering. The General Agreement on Academic Exchanges between the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering of TJU and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of OSU was renewed by the two sides. According to the agreement, both sides reached the consensus on developing summer training program and undergraduate degree programs including “2+2”, “3+1+1”, as well as expanding doctoral student training programs. At the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering, Professor Teague also delivered a lecture on “Electrical Engineering at OSU”.
Founded in 1890, the Oklahoma State University is a renowned public university in southern United States. In 2007, a Memorandum of Understanding between TJU and OSU and The General Agreement on Academic Exchanges between the School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering of TJU and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of OSU were signed.
