On September 14, a group of over 30 IAP Young Scientists gathered at Tianjin University (TJU) and visited the Key Laboratory of Smart Grid of Ministry of Education. Professor Jia Hongjie, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation gave them a warm welcome.
Under the guidance of laboratory director Professor Wang Chengshan, the guests visited the Smart Grid PV System Laboratory, the Microgrid Testbed Laboratory and the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory. After hearing an introduction to the laboratories at TJU, the young scientists were deeply impressed by TJU’s achievements which have been applied across many industries.
The IAP Young Scientists Program was initiated in 2008 with IAP's participation in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as "Summer Davos". It takes place in September each year in China. The fifth "IAP Conference of Young Scientists" was held in Tianjin on the same day. The visit to TJU was one of the components of the program.
