TJU Welcomes Indian Delegation

President Li Jiajun met with a delegation from India, headed by Vice Chairman of the Board Madhav Das Nalapat of Manipal Education Group, and Vice Chancellor Komattil Ramnarayan of Manipal University on October 31. President Li expressed his welcome to the guests and briefly talked about the international exchanges and collaboration at Tianjin University (TJU), especially student exchange programs, summer schools, and joint research. Vice Chancellor Komattil Ramnarayan gave an overview of his university, including its history and distinctive disciplines. He hoped that the faculty and students of the two universities could serve as the ambassadors for Sino-India friendship through exchanges in the fields of education and culture.

Afterwards, President Li and President Komattil Ramnarayan signed the Memorandum of Understanding between TJU and Manipal University, which marked the initiation of collaboration between the schools.

The delegation also held discussions and reached a consensus with representatives of associated TJU offices and schools on student and faculty exchange, joint research, and the construction of an overseas Confucius Institute in India.
