On September 18, 2013, Tianjin University (TJU) andPolytech Nice-Sophiaheld a working meeting on the training of engineers at TJU. Attendees included Director Philippe Gourbesville of Polytech Nice-Sophia and his delegates, TJU Vice President Shu Gequn and representatives from associated schools and departments.
This meeting was an in-depth conversation between TJU and Polytech Nice-Sophia after an agreement signing between Excellence Alliance (China) (TJU is an important member of the alliance) and Polytech Group (France) in May of this year. Attendees had a detailed discussion on their cooperation in engineer education.
Established in 2005, Polytech Nice-Sophia is an independent engineering school affiliated with the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. It is also an important member of the French Polytech Group. Polytech Nice-Sophia educates in numerous cutting-edge areas of modern technology, including electronics, hydroinformatics and water engineering, and smart building. A cooperative agreement between Excellence Alliance (China) and Polytech Group (France) was signed in May, 2013. Through numerous visits, TJU and Polytech Nice-Sophia reached agreement on engineering education reform and engineer education. Also, substantial follow-up cooperation between the two universities is being advanced.
