International Desalination Association President Visits TJU

On September 12, 2013, Dr. Corrado Sommariva, President of the International Desalination Association (IDA), visited Tianjin University (TJU). Vice Party Secretary Wang Yan met with him. Representatives from the Tianjin government and TJU related schools and departments also attended the meeting.

Vice Party Secretary Wang indicated that desalination programs had promising prospects in Tianjin. In addition, TJU was agreeable towards cooperating with the IDA in the area of desalination, so as to promote the development of desalination projects in China as well as the world. President Sommariva stated that the IDA would use its strength of vast international resources to offer full support towards collaborating with TJU in education and research. During the meeting, the sides held a discussion on joint education and co-establishment of a research platform between TJU and IDA.Subsequently, President Sommariva visited the TJU History Museum.
