President Li Jiajun Called on TJU Awards-Winning Faculty and Students at the World Engineers Summit 2013

On September 26, 2013, Tianjin University (TJU) President Li Jiajun paid a visit to the Hydraulics Institute as well as the faculty and students who won an award at the World Engineers Summit 2013 with their project of Intelligent Aerator for Water Acceleration.

Dean Lian Jijian of the School of Civil Engineering, faculty, and student representatives gave a presentation on the design of the project, the performance of various components, and their proposed improvement in the project in the future. President Li was pleased to see the remarkable effects of the device on water purification. He stated that there were some serious problems of environmental pollution in Tianjin and the comprehensive management of water resources is increasingly significant. This project was to solve practical problems in economic and social development. It integrated mature technologies from numerous areas and would make a difference in the comprehensive management of water resources. Through the utilization of TJU's existing resources and strengths from other disciplines, the device could be developed to be a multifunctional integration platform, so as to contribute more to the construction of a “beautiful Tianjin”.
