RMIT University Dean of Engineering Aleksandar Subic Conferred TJU Guest Professorship

On November 27, 2013, Professor Aleksandar Subic, Dean of Engineering at RMIT University, and Dr. Wang Xu visited Tianjin University (TJU) for discussion of cooperation in mechanical engineering between the two universities. TJU Vice President Shu Gequn received the guests.

During the meeting, Vice President Shu briefed the guests on TJU’s history, development, and disciplinary strength. With TJU’s internationalization strategy launched in October 28, 2010, he hoped high level international exchange could promote common development of the two universities. Professor Subic highlighted RMIT’s strength in engineering, especially in the field of mechanical engineering, and the university’s focus on international exchange with its commitment to be a “global university”. Also, he mentioned RMIT’s cooperation on student programs with numerous Chinese universities, hoping to cooperate with TJU on student training, as well as doctoral student programs, and a joint research center.

After the meeting, Vice President Shu conferred a certificate of guest professorship upon Professor Subic.
