Slovak Delegation Visits Tianjin University

On April 9, 2014, Peter Bielik, Rector of the Slovak University of Agriculture, led a delegation of his university and Ms. Nad’a Hlavackova from the Slovak Embassy in China to visit Tianjin University (TJU). President Li Jiajun welcomed the guests.

President Li updated the guests on TJU and its new campus, especially the College of Management and Economics, the School of Life Sciences, and the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology. He expressed hopes for cooperation between the two universities, especially as TJU supports such a strong and advantageous Confucius Institute in Bratislava. Peter Bielik mentioned that in order to accommodate the growing interest in Chinese learning at the Slovak University of Agriculture, the university will shortly be opening its own Confucius classrooms. The Slovak University of Agriculture is a “green university” considerably qualified in the teaching and research of agriculture, biology, economics andtechnical sciences. It is hoped that cooperation can be cultivated between the two universities, especially in the areas of student training and research.
