A TJU Delegation Visits Germany to Facilitate Cooperation

A Tianjin University (TJU) delegation led by the Vice-Party Secretary Wang Yan visited Germany from August 31 to September 4. Members of the delegation exchanged ideas on university management, strategy implementation, and student exchange programs with their counterparts in Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and Dresden University of Technology.

PresidentMarie-Louise Klotzof Rhine-Waal Universityof Applied Sciences met with the TJU delegation. An in-depth discussion was held on the management of the German public universities, in terms of policy making, strategy implementation and audit management. They also visited some teaching and accommodation facilities of the youngest public university in Germany. Based on the existing school-level student exchange program the two parties agreed to further promote mutual visits and the exchange of students.

Susanne Strahringer, Vice-Rector for Academic and International Affairs of Dresden University of Technology, also met with the TJU delegation. She pointed out that China played a key role in the implementation of the international strategy of the university, and hoped to see more dynamic collaboration and exchanges between the faculty and students of the two universities. Vice-Party Secretary Wang talked about TJU’s distinctive disciplines, development trends and the cooperation with German universities. The two parties agreed that, having shared a lot in common, the two universities should initiate student exchange programs in the fields of civil engineering and architecture and should then expand the collaboration into other fields. During the visit, the TJU delegation had a campus tour and visited some labs.
