Tianjin University Delegation Visits Russian Universities

From June 20-21, 2019, Zhao Meirong, the Tianjin University Party Committee Deputy Secretary, led a delegation to visit Moscow State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

On June 20, Deputy Party Secretary Zhao Meirong and her delegation visited Moscow State University and signed a memorandum of cooperation and an agreement on student exchanges. Moscow State University Vice President Yuri A. Mazei hoped to further strengthen cooperation with Tianjin University in the future. Zhao said that the two universities had carried out research cooperation in the field of laser technology for many years. In addition, the two universities had been promoting student programs in the fields of economics and management in recent years. She hoped that through the signing of the cooperation agreement, the two universities could extend their cooperation to more areas.

Tianjin University has cooperated with the International Laser Center of Moscow State University for more than ten years and published dozens of high-level academic papers.

Subsequently, Deputy Party Secretary Zhao visited the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Deputy Director of the International Relations Office Dmitry Drobyshev hoped that through cooperative programs both schools could explore cooperation on graduate student training. Zhao said that both universities are strong in engineering, and fit well with each other on disciplinary layout. The two universities could deepen cooperation through student exchanges and joint training.

Tianjin University and Bauman Moscow State Technical University signed a cooperation agreement in 1999. The two universities are both members of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU).

At Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University on June 21, both sides hoped to strengthen student and staff exchanges and promote substantive cooperation in the future. During the talks, the two sides desired to deepen their cooperation and exchanged views on cooperation in student training, exchanges of experts and scholars, and area studies.

In 2013, Tianjin University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University signed a memorandum of cooperation and student exchange agreement. The two universities are both members of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU).
