On December 8th, a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology led by Xu Haoqing (Deputy Director of the Foreign Expert Service Department) came to gather information. Jin Donghan, President of Tianjin University, met with the delegation at the Weijin Road Campus and held a discussion. Vice President Hu Wenping as well as the heads of the International Office and School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology also attended the discussion.
Xu Haoqing elucidated the country's reforms and plans for attracting talent under the current situation and encouraged TJU to implement the important concept of "two-wheel drive" of scientific and technological innovation and system innovation introduced by General Secretary Xi Jinping. Xu Haoqing praised the achievements made by TJU in recruiting talent and hoped that it will continue to promote system and mechanism innovation, fully utilize its unique advantages, actively respond to new changes in the international situation and the impact of the epidemic, and promote development through opening up to better serve the overall situation of technological innovation, development, and reform.
Jin Donghan extended his welcome to the delegation led by Xu Haoqing and thanked the Foreign Expert Service Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology for its continuous support of TJU. He pointed out that the recruitment of talent is an important form of opening up. Strengthening the recruitment of talent can better serve technological innovation. TJU is committed to innovating and optimizing the ecology for attracting talent. The School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology has advanced concepts and distinctive features. It has been selected as part of the first batch for the "University Internationalization Demonstration College Promotion Plan". In the future, under the guidance and help of the Foreign Expert Service Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, it is hoped that it will strengthen its close integration with disciplines and industries such as intelligent manufacturing and medical engineering. By doing so, international development and construction can be further deepened.
The delegation also visited the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology for fact-finding purposes.
