On January 13th, a delegation led by Yuan Ying (Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau) came to visit with experts and scholars. Zhao Meirong (Vice Chairman of the University Council), representatives from the Office of International Cooperation, and experts and scholars met with the delegation.
Yuan Ying said that the purpose of this visit was to express gratitude to experts and scholars for their contributions to the development of TJU and Tianjin. At the same time, they will listen to experts' opinions and suggestions on talent recruitment to gain more experts to further help Tianjin's innovation and development.
Zhao Meirong welcomed Yuan Ying and thanked the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau for its continuous support of Tianjin University. She pointed out that TJU has taken multiple measures this year to prevent and control the epidemic situation for foreign teachers, and at the same time, great breakthroughs have been made in the work of recruiting talent. Talents are an important driving force for Tianjin's innovation and development. It is necessary to accurately recruit talent based on the industrial layout and with the help of various platforms. TJU is willing to play its part and utilize its own advantages in this process.
Experts introduced their work progress and needs in turn. Professor Zhu Jigui from the School of Precision Instruments and Opto-electronics Engineering thanked the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and TJU for their care for his work and life and put forward suggestions on enhancing the orientation of project application. Professor Paolo from the School of Architecture introduced the work he has done during the epidemic prevention and control time, thanked TJU for its assistance, and made suggestions on the treatment of foreign teachers, the application for scientific research funds, and financial aid for foreign students.
Yuan Ying thanked the experts and scholars for their pertinent opinions and suggestions and said that they would coordinate to help on specific issues. Finally, the delegation presented flowers to the experts and took a group photo.
