Records of Tianjin University (TJU) were rewritten during “The Future We Want — Beijing Model United Nations (BMUN) 2012”, hosted by China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing from April 4 to 8. The five-student team from TJU Model United Nations Association won the Best Delegation Award, the first time for TJU to get this award in the BUMN.
Over 400 delegates from nearly 60 universities and high schools all over China participated in BMUN 2012. TJU delegates stood out among all the participants with excellent performance in the three-day event. Besides the Best Delegation Award, TJU delegates also won three Best Delegate Awards and one Outstanding Delegate Award.
With highest academic level, the BMUN is known for its high standard, rigorous atmosphere, highly competitive debates and has attracted numerous distinguished students. Starting from 2002, BMUN has become an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to inform participants about current events and topics on international relations, diplomacy, etc. The success TJU has made in this event demonstrates the extended knowledge of international affairs, eminent level of foreign languages and comprehensive competitiveness of TJU students.
