A Delegation from Waseda University Visit Tianjin University

On March 4, a delegation from Waseda University, headed by Kotaro Hirasawa, Dean of Graduate School of Information Production and Systems visited the School of Electronic Information Engineering and the School of Computer Science and Technology of Tianjin University. Prof. Jianwu Dang, Dean of School of Computer Science and Technology, A/Prof. Jinsheng Yang, Vice Dean of School of Electronic Information Engineering and Prof. Fuling Yang, Director of International Cooperation Office held a discussion with the guests. Both sides agreed on cooperation in terms of student joint cultivation and discussed the detail of a university-level joint training collaboration agreement.

Waseda University is one of the most prestigious private universities in Japan and Asia. Waseda University established the Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems (IPS) with the objective of developing it into an advanced and internationalized educational institution that can respond to the needs of 21st century society and which would become a base for the dissemination and transfer of wisdom and knowledge throughout Asia and the world. Established in 2003, IPS comprises three fields of study: Information Architecture, Production Systems, and System LSI. IPS takes pride in being fully prepared to support the formation of careers suited to this progressively globalized world. IPS is establishing itself as a key knowledge base in Asia by trying to maintain world-level recognition.
