On February 26th, Tianjin Education International Exchange and Cooperation Projects Signing Ceremony was held in Tianjin Guest House. Gaoli Zhang, Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee and Xingguo Huang, Mayor of Tianjin greeted the guests from home and abroad. Leaders from Tianjin Municipal Government, Jiajun Li, President of Tianjin University and Ke Gong, President of Nankai University attended the ceremony.
At the invitation of Tianjin University, Prof. Yali Zou, Director of Asian American Studies Center (AASC) of University of Houston, attended the ceremony and was warmly welcomed by President Jiajun Li. At the ceremony, Prof. Zou and Prof. Fuling Yang, Director of International Cooperation Office of Tianjin University signed a Cooperation Agreement covering collaboration activities such as Education Leadership Training and Global Professional Training, joint research and teaching in the area of comparative education, and cooperation in other academic areas between the two universities. Also present at the ceremony were representatives from 17 local universities and 31 institutions from 15 countries all over the world. 33 agreements were signed during the ceremony covering joint education, faculty training, student exchange and joint research and so on.
During her stay in Tianjin, Prof. Yali Zou was greeted by Prof. Xianjin Yang, Executive Party Secretary, Prof. Jianxing Yu, Vice President, Prof. Yan Wang, Deputy Party Secretary, and representatives from the School of Vocational and Technical Education, Tianjin University Press, Undergraduate Affairs Office and International Cooperation Office. The two sides reviewed past collaboration and reached consensus to work more closely together.
