Presidential Delegation from Nanyang Technological University Visited TU

A delegation of 10 people headed by Dr. Guaning Su, President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), visited TianjinUniversity(TU) on January 21^st, 2011.

President Jiajun Li expressed his warm welcome to the first delegation from international partner universities he hosted since he was appointed the President of Tianjin University on 10^thJanuary, 2011. President Li briefed the guests on the recent development of TU, especially the construction plan of TU’s new campus. He mentioned that the fast development of the city of Tianjin brought a lot of opportunities to the University, and with more efforts put into international exchanges and cooperation, the university will serve better for the development of Tianjin.President Guaning Su indicated that NTU shared a lot of similarities with TU, their strategic partner, in terms of key disciplines. Both sides expressed their willingness to make contributions to the construction of Sino-SingaporeTianjin Eco-city throughcollaborationon scientific research and education. Later, the two sides discussed cooperation details in areas ofenvironment, management and animation.

NTU is an internationally reputed research-intensive university in Singapore. In the QS World University Rankings 2010, NTU ranks 74^thoverall and 36^thfor Technology subject ranking. NTU is committed to strengthening cooperation with international partners from China, India, US , Europe, and etc. Tianjin University has developed close relationship with NTU since 2002. Currently, the two universities are both involved in the construction plan ofSino-SingaporeTianjin Eco-city.
