Delegation of Indian Institute of Technology at Bombay Visits Tianjin University

On November 5th, a delegation headed by Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Chairman of Board of Governors,Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Bombay visited Tianjin University. Professor Yidan Li, Vice Chairman of University Administrative Council welcomed the the guests on behalf of the university. Joining him were representatives from School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering and International Cooperation Office.

Professor Yidan Li extended his warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the university. Dr. Kakodkar gave an overview of Indian Institutes of Technology and the Bombay Branch. During the meeting, Prof. Fuling Yang, Director of International Cooperation Office, introduced to the guests the University history and the strength in education and research. Indian guests showed great interest in learning about TU’s experience on university-industry collaboration, international cooperation, education, research and graduates’ employment. They expressed interest to foster collaboration with TU in terms of faculty and student exchange and education. Subsequently, TU representatives briefed the guests on education and research at different schools.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) was founded in 1951, which consists of 7 branches all over India. IIT Bombay ranks No. 187 in the 2010 QS world University Ranking with strengths in the areas of aeronautical engineering, biological science and engineering, chemical engineering, computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering.
