It is the first time for Chinese teams to join in iGEM. Tianjin University delegation performed well in the finals. Their informative presentation on Bio-diode and RS flip-flop within the given 20 minutes, wonderful performance in Q&A section and good manners were recognized by all the attendees, and helped the delegation win a Gold Medal along with teams from world leading universities such as MIT, Harvard, and Cambridge and so on. This shows the strengths of our university in the areas of chemical engineering and synthetic biology. During the competition, the delegation also had academic and cultural exchanges with other participant teams from London Imperial College, ETH Zurich, UC-Berkeley, Davidson college, etc. iGEM, initiated by MIT five years ago, has now developed into a world-class competition. 59 teams across the globe participated in iGEM 2007.
