NUS Alumni Banquet Held in Beijing

On the evening of Oct.28, a grand banquet of over 300 alumni and guests of National University of Singapore was held in Landmark Hotel in Beijing. NUS President Shih Choon Fong warmly welcomed all those present before dinner. Vice President Lawrence Loh greeted NUS alumni in his carefully prepared talk in mandarin Chinese. Former Vice Prime Minister Li, Lanqing, honorary Doctor of Letters of NUS, showed up, and emphasized the importance of art and literature in his address. President Gong, Ke and representative from International Cooperation Office attended the event on behalf of Tianjin University. Presidents and representatives from other universities in China also attended the event.
