Delegation from Wroclaw Universities Consortium Visited Tianjin University

On October 12, 2006, a delegation from Wroclaw Universities Consortium (Poland) consisting of 5 members visited Tianjin University. President KONG Ke met the guests in No. 5Meeting Room, Conference Building. GU Yao, Vice Dean of Graduate School, WANG Shibin, Deputy Director of Office of Undergraduate Education, Prof. YANG Fuling, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Office also joined the meeting. After extending his welcome, President GONG gave a brief talk on the history, development, disciplines of Tianjin University, and combining with globalization and building of innovation oriented county, he mentioned the international training strategy and practice of TU students. He indicated that international cooperation plays an important role in improving the core competitiveness of higher education, and expressed his hope to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the two universities in relative fields. Head of the delegation,Prof. Krzysztof Nawotka, Vice President of University of Wroclaw, gave an overview of Wroclaw Universities Consortium and its member universities and expressed his hope to establish cooperative relations with TU in such fields as biotechnology and chemical engineering, etc. After the meeting, both sides discussed in details on faculty and students exchange programs. The delegation also visited the University Archives. Wroclaw university consortium consists of seven public universities in Poland and has close ties with institutions of higher education in other countries of Europe.
