President of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet Visited Tianjin University

On October 10, 2005, Prof. Brigitte Winklehner, President of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) visited Tianjin University to make explorations into the collaboration between EPU and TJU, as in Joint Nano Technology Research Center and student / faculty exchange. Staff from School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering and International Cooperation Office joined the meeting. After the meeting, Prof. Winklehner interviewed the student candidate for 2007 Science and Technology scholarships by the Republic of Austria for all Eurasia-Pacific Uninet members of the PR China The Eurasia-Pacific Uninet was founded in the year of 2000 by Prof. Brigitte Winklehner with the financial and logistic support of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture. The network aims at establishing contacts and scientific partnerships between Austrian Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences and educational institutions in East Asia, Central Asia and the Pacific Region. The network programs involve summer schools, students and faculty exchange, scholarships etc. In October 2005 when she visited Tianjin University, President Winklehner signed the DELCARATION and established the cooperative relations between TJU and EPU
