Assistant Vice President of the University of Chicago visited Tianjin University

On September 18, 2006, Mrs. Diana Jergovic, Assistant Vice President and Mr. Allen R. Sanderson from the University of Chicago (UC), visited Tianjin University (TJU). Prof. Yang Fuling, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, Tianjin University, met American guests in No.3 Meeting Room of Guest House. After extending her warm welcome, Prof. Yang talked about the history, development, education and research of Tianjin University. Mr. Huang Changchun, Section director of the Science and Technology Office introduced the technology transfer, program cooperation and administration system of science and technology in TJU. Mrs. Jergovic introduced briefly about the academic strengths of UC. Both sides found a lot of common interest of cooperation and expect to develop substantial exchange programs in the areas of chemical engineering, materials science, and information science and technology between the two universities.
