Vice President of National University of Singapore Visited Tianjin University

On July 27, 2006, a delegation from National University of Singapore (NUS) headed by Vice President Dr. Lawrence Loh visited Tianjin University. After extending his welcome to the guests in his office, Prof. YU Jianxing, Vice President of TJU gave a brief introduction of the history, development, education and research of the University. Then Vice President Lawrence Loh talked about the history, academic programs, research and development of NUS .Both sides expressed their hope to promote exchange and discussed the possibility of co-enhancing TEDA's development. Prof. TAN Xin, Director of International Cooperation Office also joined the meeting. National University of Singapore, a public university under the Ministry of Education of Singapore, has 8 colleges and 4 graduate schools with 1500 faculty and 350 researchers. It has 14,600 undergraduates and 2,500 postgraduates. In recent years, NUS is recognized worldwide for its faculty and has developed into a top university in Asia-Pacific area.
