Sony Corporation Delegation Visited Tianjin University

On March 13th, 2006, a delegation from Sony Corporation, headed by Mr. Yasuhiro Chigusa, General Manager of Recruiting Department Corporate Human Resources, visited Tianjin University with the purpose of signing internship agreement with the university. Vice President HU Xiaotang met the guests in VIP room. Vice Dean of Graduate School, Mr. GU Yao, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Office Prof. Yang Fuling and delegates from School of Materials Science and Engineering and School of Chemical Engineering also joined the meeting. Vice President HU Xiaotang extended warm welcome to the delegation and then gave a brief introduction to the history, development, education and research of Tianjin University and mentioned its cooperation with large multinational companies like Honeywell Inc. He indicated that the internship program was of significance to facilitate the understanding and exchange between the youth of China and Japan, and the university would select excellent candidate students for this program to guarantee its performance. Then Mr. Yasuhiro Chigusa briefly introduced the history and development of Sony Corporation. Both sides hoped to establish more extensive cooperation in technology and talent training on the basis of this program. After the meeting, Mr. Yasuhiro Chigusa and Mr. GU Yao signed the internship agreement. Later in the afternoon, the delegation interviewed the five candidate students from the university. Sony Corporation is primarily focused on the Electronics (such as AV/IT products & components), Game (such as PlayStation), Entertainment (such as motion pictures and music), and Financial Services (such as insurance and banking) sectors. Its great achievement in the above-mentioned aspects has made it one of the biggest comprehensive entertainment corporations in the world.
