Tianjin University International Summer Research Camp for Intelligent Medicine and Medical-Engineering Integration Now Open for Applications

15-day immersive research program to explore cutting-edge intelligent medicine. Led by top international instructors in medical-engineering integration, with training on national-level platforms and cross-cultural exchanges. All courses are taught in English. We invite young scholars worldwide to pioneer medical innovation and build bridges for international cooperation!
Medical School Overview
Since its establishment in April 2018, the Medical School of Tianjin University has consistently committed itself to advancing the Healthy China initiative and enhancing public health by developing innovative engineering techniques and fostering translational innovations. At the core of the Medical School, we concentrate on the 'Medicine +' direction of modern medical development, actively expanding the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary aspects of medical talent education. The school currently have four disciplines—Biomedical Engineering, Intelligent Medical Engineering, Clinical Medicine, and Neuroscience and Technology, establishing a comprehensive talent cultivation system that encompasses bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. After years of dedicated development, our Biomedical Engineering has ranked second in the 2024 and 2025 ShanghaiRanking's list of Best Chinese Subjects Ranking, while our Intelligent Medical Engineering is the first undergraduate program in China focused on intelligent technology in the field of medicine, achieving an A+ ranking in 2023, 2024 and 2025. In addition, we set up the first brain-computer interface program in China to cultivate interdisciplinary personnel.

· World-class international faculty: Taught by senior professors and clinical experts from Tianjin University and its affiliated hospitals, with chair professors leading frontier lectures. Bilingual teaching assistants provide full support.
· High-end platform practice: Access to national research labs, Haihe Laboratories, and clinical observation at university-affiliated hospitals for immersive experience in research-clinical integration.

Eligibility
Current undergraduate and master’s students from developed countries in Europe and America, as well as Belt & Road partner countries. Passionate about medical-engineering interdisciplinary fields and dedicated to exploring intelligent medicine and medical-engineering integration.

Core Modules (15-day Immersive Program)
1. Foundation & Orientation: Introduction to Intelligent Medicine, lab skills training, frontier seminars to build knowledge framework.
2. Core Technologies & Frontier Exploration: Courses on brain-computer interface, medical big data & AI, nanomedicine, precision diagnosis and treatment. Virtual simulation experiments and traditional Chinese medicine culture experience.
3. Research Training & Clinical Practice: Group projects in research labs, hands-on experiments (BCI, biomaterials), clinical observation in ICU and imaging departments at affiliated hospitals.
4. Presentation & Cultural Integration: Project defense, academic poster session, and visits to Tianjin cultural landmarks.

Faculty
Led by the Medical School and affiliated hospitals of Tianjin University, covering intelligent medicine, BCI, nanomedicine, rehabilitation medicine, public health, etc. Professional English teaching assistants and full-time management team ensure teaching, living, and safety support.
Assessment & Certification
100-point comprehensive assessment (daily performance, research training, final achievements). Certificate of completion issued by Tianjin University to qualified participants.

Program Fee
15,000 RMB per person
Included: Tuition, on-campus accommodation, campus meals, cultural activities, accident insurance, airport pickup/drop-off.
Not included: International airfare, visa fees, personal expenses.Minimum 30 participants to run the camp. The program will be canceled if the quota is not met. Payment details will be sent by email.
